Ingredients:
1 kilo ripe tomatoes
2 medium white onions
6 red bell peppers (roasted)
1/2 cup wansuy (finely chopped)
2 tbsp salt
1 tsp pepper
4 tbsp tomato paste
1 chili (optional)
pinch of five herbs and spices
Preparations:
Diced the tomatoes and onions into small pieces. Roast the bell peppers until the skin outside burned and peel off the skin, and diced it. Add the chopped wansuy. Season it with salt and pepper, and mix it. After a few minutes the tomatoes would sweat out some of its liquids. Drain it and use it to cook the tomato paste, add a pinch of five herb and spices, and the chili.
Tip:
To remove the skin easily seal it in a plastic bag while it's hot; when it cools down peel the skin off.

Tootsie's Tagaytay
This weekend that had past (March 20-21), my classmates and I planned a summer outing. Last week was the end of the second term, and one way of celebrating it was for a fun-filled day at the beach with good food and new good friends. We were hoping many would join us but apparently there were only 12 of us. With this small number, I think we were able to enjoy ourselves more, and built friendship.
It was Ricky's idea to try the food at Tootsie's Tagaytay, I know the place but it was my first time to try it. We had the following:
- Tinoyong Bangus
- Crispy Pata
- Kansi Bulalo
- Turon Halo-Halo for dessert
Kansi Bulalo is something different, which what made our late lunch a bit special. The taste was a mixture of a Sinigang and Bulalo in one. But what surprised me, is that it only has two main ingredient: Kamansi and Beef. It's sour-salty taste would be a perfect "soup" for the climate in Tagaytay. Meanwhile, for those who are into spicy foods like me, you can add chillies on it too.
The dessert was a surprise for me. I was expecting the traditional Halo-Halo and Turon, but it turned out to be Turon with different stuffings: Ube/Leche Flan and Bananas.
Any vacation would be memorable if you enjoy it with good friends and good food. It was a remarkable weekend for me and I hope to try new and exciting dishes soon.
